Sabrina Akins
multi-media artist and animator
About
I am a multimedia artist and animator who uses each medium to influence and contribute to the meaning of my work. I break the boundaries of each medium I work with, expanding each form in unexpected ways. My work has evolved from political call outs to building community because there is a revolution in connection. I make difficult, often complicated, subjects familiar to my audience even if it’s from a point of view that is so different from their own. My audience walks away with a new way to connect to themselves and others. My role as an artist is to collaborate for change and my pieces are a collaboration with my audience for internal insight. I know I can’t change the world alone, but I can change the hearts and minds of those who view my work.
